I applied for a Degree course in interior Design with Central Saint Martin but was unfortunately told that I did not meet the entry requirements. Usually they only except applicants with a foundation degree previously done. So they offered me a place on a Foundation course as well as an interview for a Foundation Degree in Interior Design. I had never heard of this course before so I looked into the course and read what it consisted of as its only a two year course which you can then extend for a third year to obtain your degree. I have yet to go to this interview but am very interested to see if I get a place on this course as it would be my first choice.
When Bournemouth offered me an interview for an Interior Architecture and Design course I didn’t really know what to expect as I had not been to an open day there before. I had only read online of what the course consisted of. As I arrived there I got a very warm welcoming feeling as though I could see myself working here. This was a very positive first impression and my interview couldn’t have gone any better. The tutors were lovely as they made us all feel welcome and relaxed. First of all six of us went into a room and the tutor talked through a short presentation about the course and details that we would need to know about it. I sat down with the main tutor and talked through my portfolio.
As well as having a look around the Uni I also thought it was a good idea to have a look around the area outside of the uni and what it had to offer for me. Bournemouth does seem like a very warm hearted kind of place and I could definitely see myself going here. I was pleased to here back from them as they had offered me a conditional place.
I applied for the Interior Architecture course at Brighton University of Arts, where I went for an interview to show them my portfolio. I was surprised when I got to the certain building I had to go to that it wasn’t the grand parade which I had previously looked around. Instead it was much more enclosed and further away from the city centre. This was a bit of a disappointment as I was expecting to be interviewed in the building that I had looked around when I came for the open day.
The one thing that interests me about brighton Uni is that the course that I have chosen to do is counted for part 1 in Architecture. This could be the difference between me successfully getting a job or not. I did have a look around the new building that I saw, where they had good drawing facilities and mac computers to use, but the atmosphere in the university didn’t really appeal to me so this is why I am unsure with going ahead with the condition offer that they offered me.
My very first interview that I went to which i got through applying through the UCAS site was at UCA Farnham. As I had already previously been to an open day at UCA Farnham I was very fond of this university and what it had to offer on the type of course which I was going for. Which is Interior Architecture. I also applied for a foundation course at both Epsom and Farnham which they offered me a provisional automatically when they had received my UCAS form.
The thing I liked most about UCA Fanham were the tutors, what the actual course consisted of and the feel of the university itself. Like Esher College where i am studying at the moment I go a warm welcoming from the very moment I walking in through the door. This was a very positive thing for me as i felt the same when I was looking around Esher. Almost a gut feeling, telling me I should go here. As well as the tutors who were so welcoming and made me feel at ease when i came for an open day and for the interview.
When I went into the interview i talked through my portfolio which consisted of sketch books and final pieces. The specific tutor that I had remembered me from my open day so we could also speak about any other questions I may have now that I had had a good look round. I could definitely see my self at UCA Farnham but the location its self is very quiet and would need a place that could inspire me.
As well as creating our animation we had to create a home screen where the viewer can see all of our objects. This has to display the V&A logo as well as all of our objects and navigation screen.
This is what our final home screen looked like.
